Originating from the tropical parts of Africa, this highly famous handsome plant ‘Ficus Lyrata 'Fiddle Leaf Fig can give your indoor spaces an aesthetically pleasing view. He has large violin-shaped and profoundly veined foliage that grows in the vertical position. As they are adapted to live in warmer and wet conditions so it becomes a real task to grow this pampered baby at home and duplicate him. But the best part is that they are strong enough to survive in a less-than-perfect environment for quite a long time. Well, he needs his own personal corner as he is a fast grower and can grow to at least 6 feet.
Pet Safe: No
Skill Level: I require some experience
He becomes happy and active when you will give him a sunbath with filtered, bright and constant light. You have to turn him after a few months when it starts to lean towards light. He loves to be kept in an east-facing sunny window, otherwise too much heat and sunlight ultimately burn his leaves and will decrease his beauty and life.
Before you prepare to give him a water bath, make sure the top one inch of the soil has become dry. Use Lukewarm or room temperature water because any cold-water bath can give him a shock. He loves watering but doesn’t prefer to stay in water for longer periods.
As he is a hot baby he loves warm temperatures just like their native rainforest weather that stays warm and humid. Keep him in a room with temperature ranging from 65 degrees Fahrenheit to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. If you house him in a room with a temperature less than 50 degrees Fahrenheit, brown spots will start appearing on his leaves.
Any room with humidity level ranging from 30% to 65% would be an ideal spot for him. If the humidity level is less you may have to increase his humidity by supplementing him with more humidity via a humidifier or misting.
Root cuttings in water.
He can be propagated through root cutting in water. For that you have to keep the base of 2 stem cuttings and 1 leaf in water or keep the 2 stem cuttings in moist soil potting. Place the cuttings in a clean glass vase filled with water, and keep them in a bright and warm place away from direct sunlight. Wait for three to four weeks.
If you feed him with a perfect houseplant fertilizer in the growing season of spring and summer it will grow fast. He likes to take fertilizers with an NPK ratio of 3-1-2. This is because they crave for high nitrogen content naturally.
An amazing fun fact about him is that as an indoor plant, he doesn’t produce any fruit or flowers sadly but when they are grown as outdoor trees, they do produce fruits but they are not edible (So don’t try to eat them). Though its fruit looks similar in size and shape to the common edible fig known as Ficus Carica.

When you receive your plant, it has been growing in it nursery pot for some time. It is recommended that your repot your plant so that you have the opportunity to inspect the roots. This is a great opportunity to use a cache pot to match your home decor theme. We offer a variety of cashe pots for sale.
When repotting it is suggested to repot in the same size as the nursery pot but if your roots are extensive and full you can "pot up" your plant to a size larger which usually means adding an inch to either side of the plant. Be careful while watering them so they don’t hold too much water or their dirt gets too wet.
We you use Noot Rescue Mix, as a recommended soil for indoor houseplants or use a standard potting mix but be more careful about watering instru
The answer to this is when your water is draining out of the pot completely and never really gets your soil moistened. It is then that there are likely more roots more soil. Repotting is usually done once in a year or so.
Make sure to never "pot up" more than an inch on each side and immediately after potting, lightly water your plant.
Important The first lifestyle photo is for purposes of showing your plants potential size at maturity and is not a true representation of what you will receive.
Live plants will have variations in color, texture, finish, and size. While we make every effort to display our plants as accurately as possible, there may be subtle differences from what is displayed online.
