Continue ShoppingPhilodendron 'Brasil'
The Brasil philodendron has a name that literally speaks for itself. Translated from the Greek term for “love tree”, this philodendron is a basic yet romantic plant family with heart-shaped leaves and lush tropical foliage. The philodendron is usually a hanging plant that trails down several feet long. As a result, some people misidentify these philodendrons as pothos plants. While they may look similar at first glance, the biggest difference is that philodendron leaves are heart-shaped, while pothos leaves are larger and more elongated.
LIGHT: Medium or bright indirect. Prefers shade in native habitats, so too much direct light will scorch leaves.
SOIL: Well-draining.
WATER: Water when top of soil is dry. Keep soil moist but do not overwater.
TEMPERATURE: Prefers 55-80°F.
HUMIDITY: Flexible, prefers medium or high humidity.
SAFETY: All philodendrons are toxic to dogs, cats, and humans when ingested. Please be mindful before growing around pets or small children.
FERTILIZER: For large plants, some growers choose to fertilize monthly during winter, weekly during active growth. Smaller or slower growing philodendrons do not need as much feeding.
PROPAGATION: Cuttings.
